Important information

Pre-College of the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music

Highly motivated professors and lecturers at the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy have extensive pedagogical experience and a strong passion for teaching. They look forward to welcoming children and young people for whom playing music is not just a skill, but an integral part of their lives. Some of these students may harbour the desire to make music their profession one day.
We offer not only intensive and enjoyable lessons, but also comprehensive support with their first steps on the concert platform, participation in youth competitions and preparation for possible music studies. As part of their training, students also have the opportunity to perform at Academy concerts or public concerts organised by the Academy or its sponsoring association.
We attach great importance to a holistic education that not only covers the technical aspects of music-making, but also promotes the development of our students’ artistic sensitivity and stage presence. Our teachers are on hand with advice and support to help students realise their musical dreams and guide them along the way.
Two examinations are held each year: an intermediate examination in June and a technical examination in January.

History

The Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy offers talented young musicians individually customisable study opportunities ranging from comprehensive artistic training and qualifying postgraduate studies to private lessons and masterclasses. Our aim is to provide intensive, focussed music studies at an international level in a family atmosphere. Since its foundation in 2002, the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music has worked closely with the Steinway Haus Düsseldorf, which provides the Academy with high-quality instruments for competitions and classical soirées on the Kö.

Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music

“For me, the Pre-College is an excellent opportunity for young musicians to immerse themselves in the world of university studies, get to know first-class lecturers, become part of the international music scene and gain initial experience on stage and in masterclasses.”
